| There
are many ways you can join the ASOM family, participate in the museum's
success and support the museum.
Volunteering
Volunteers serve in several different areas and are vital
to the success of the museum. The many volunteers come from all walks
of life, are all ages, and bring a wide variety of skills, talents
and knowledge. Among the many volunteer opportunities, docents supplement
the story of airborne and special operations units as told through
the exhibits. Providing general assistance to visitors at the museum
and to people calling on the telephone are Information Desk volunteers.
Communications volunteers assist with the mailing of newsletters, correspondence
and media materials, and other administrative support duties. Events
volunteers provide assistance with special lectures, programs and events.
Museum Friends
The success of the Airborne & Special Operations
Museum's many programs depends on the dedication and enthusiastic participation
of the community. Individuals or businesses that become friends of
the museum allow for the ongoing success of the museum.

Unit Memorials
The entrance walk to the museum is lined with large
memorial stones representing many of airborne and special operations
units. These stones are purchased by the units or associations as a
lasting memorial and a permanent part of the ASOM. Thirty-three stones
now line the walk, beginning with the Parachute Test Platoon. All flag
bearing units are invited to join the walk. Proceeds from the memorial
sales support the museum's programming and exhibits.
