Fort Bragg has two other excellent Army museums, both of which explore in
greater detail specific facets of the airborne and special operations
story.
The
82d Airborne Division War Memorial Museum is located
on Ardennes Street at the corner of Gela Street, in the
center of the 82d Airborne Division area of Fort Bragg.
The museum celebrates the history of the "All American" division
from its activation in 1917 through its service in World War II
as the Army's first airborne division, and over half a century
of duty since as the nation's primary strategic reaction force.
Hours for the museum are 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm Tuesday through
Saturday. Closed Sundays, and closed Mondays except open Federal
holiday Mondays. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years

is free.
The JFK
Special Warfare Museum is located on the corner of Ardennes
and Marion Streets. The museum focuses on the Army's Special Forces
from their beginning as the Office of Strategic Services (OSS)
through the present real world missions of the world famous Green
Berets. The museum hours are form 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through
Sundays. The museum is closed Mondays except for Labor Day, Veterans
Day, Memorial Day, and the 4th of July. Call (910) 432-4272 for

The Museum
of the Cape Fear in Fayetteville is part of the North Carolina state museum system, and tracks the history
of the people and places in the Cape Fear River valley. Located just a few blocks from the Airborne & Special
Operations Museum, the Museum of the Cape Fear is open Tuesday
through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
on Sundays. Call (910) 486-1330 for more information. Admission
is free.
General
William C. Lee Airborne Museum The home of Dunn native Major
General William C. Lee, "Father
of the U.S. Army Airborne", is an
early 20th century Neo-classical Revival house located at 209 W.
Divine St. in Dunn. Museum open Tuesday-Friday, 10am-4pm; Saturday,
11am-4pm; and Sunday, 1-4pm. Admission, $1 for adults and children
